Goodreads Summary

With Easter right around the corner, I figured I would pick up the book about the library’s favorite bunny, Knuffle Bunny. Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale by Mo Willems is a book about a little girl named Trixie whose best friend is a stuffed bunny named Knuffle Bunny. She goes to the laundromat with her dad, after sometime and almost home, she realizes that her precious bunny is gone. As many of us know, what happens when a child loses their favorite toy, they and their parents go on to try to find Knuffle Bunny.

I picked this book because it has been years since I last read it, and I enjoyed it. Mo Willems has a strong hold on my childhood because of how adorable and lovable his characters are, and how children are always happy to see them. Willems does an excellent job of capturing the reader's attention with his simple but character designs and backgrounds. His usual style reminds me of Dr. Seuss's style of art, but a little calmer with less dramatic characters. This book does not follow that usual art style, it has photographs in the background and cartoon characters. I love  Piggie and Gerald and the Pigeon; however, I can not deny that Knuffle Bunny is one of the most popular characters he has created. After I reread this iconic picture book, Knuffle Bunny is my favorite character of the Mo Willems universe.

There is nothing I can say that I dislike about the book and its story. I believe it is a timeless classic that every child and parent can relate to. I recommend this book to everyone who wants a simple but fun story to share with their little ones. Will you and your own Knuffle Bunny stop by the Florence County library and check the next adventure of Trixie and Knuffle Bunny?
