Goodreads Summary

Thoughts:

I picked up this series because I heard that the author was in the process of writing the sixth volume of the series. My curiosity finally got the best of me, so I picked it up and started reading. It only took a few pages of volume one and I was hooked. The illustrations and story hook the reader in and make you feel like you can’t leave without thinking about what will happen next. The relationship between Nick and Charlie is the coziest and most realistic depiction of a queer couple I have seen in a long time. The relationship is loving, but also tackles some deep topics that every couple has or have talked about.

Alice Oseman shows the reader the good, the bad, and the ugly. She showed me the good times between Nick and Charlie. You see Nick struggle with who he is and you see Charlie struggle with trust. She makes you want the best for Nick and Charlie, and as the title suggests, there are moments where your heart will stop because you don’t know how it is going to end. This series will hit home for someone who wants to read about realistic relationships with cozy illustrations.
