Interlibrary Loan Request

Florence County Library System participates in Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This is a system where one library borrows materials from another library for its patrons, allowing them to access materials not available in their own library's collection. Please read over the following information before submitting a request for ILL.

If the book is available in the SCLends catalogue the book will be placed on hold for the patron instead. The patron would then pick up the book from the circulation desk of their designated pick up library.

  • You must be at least 14 years of age and have a Florence County Library card in good standing (i.e. no overdue items, lost items, fees, etc…)

  • You must adhere to due dates and any restrictions placed by the lending library.

  • You may request up to three titles or one subject at a time, including items checked out.

Requests for renewals must be placed at least four days prior to the due date by contacting the Interlibrary Loan Department directly at (843) 292-7371. Overdue materials may not be renewed.

If an ILL book is lost or returned damaged, you will be responsible for paying any fine issued by the lending library.

Interlibrary loan materials repeatedly not checked out or non-compliance with the rules above may lead to termination of ILL privileges.
