What initially drew you to your field, and how has that passion evolved over time?
I have always had wonderful experiences with librarians. I remember going into the library with my mom when I was a kid and the librarians were always so kind to us. While attending Francis Marion University I decided I wanted to work in a library.
What is your favorite event to host at the library?
My favorite event is having the privilege of hosting Dungeons and Dragons at the library. We have the best time playing and there have been many friendships made along the way.
What makes you feel at peace?
I love being out in nature and I find it extremely peaceful to walk out into the forest, sit against a tree and enjoy the sounds sights and smell of nature.
What are you most grateful for in your role at the library?
The thing about working for the library that I am most grateful for is that I can help people in our community in various ways. Especially being able to help people with building resumes and finding employment.
What’s your favorite thing to cook (or order)?
My favorite thing to cook is bacon wrapped cheese stuffed venison back strap with homemade Marsala sauce over garlic mashed potatoes.
If you saw a celebrity in a restaurant, what would you do?
I’ve had the opportunity to meet a few celebrities. The time I met Chris Rock was one of the most memorable. He and his family came into the restaurant where I worked and were seated in my section. We had a few laughs over some of his family’s food choices and he and his family were a pleasure to serve.
