Hubert Setzler
Hubert Setzler – President
Hubert H. Setzler III is an Assistant Professor of Management at Francis Marion University. He was born in Syracuse, NY but was raised in Newberry, SC, received is B.A. in English with a minor in Business from Newberry College and was awarded an M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He operated a software consulting company that developed a line of computer based training programs and has consulted with various MLB, NBA, and NHL franchises about statistical marketing analysis, most recently with the Charlotte Bobcats. Hubert is also a member of the FMU Civitans.

Beverly Hiller
Beverly Hiller – Treasurer
Beverly Hiller retired as Financial Director of the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. She has been active with the Friends of Florence County Library for many years, serving on the Fundraising Committee for the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library. Beverly and her husband, Laddie, have two sons, two grandsons, and one daughter-in-law, all of whom live in Florence. She is an avid walker, reader, and enjoys attending sporting events in which her grandsons are involved. Her favorite section of the library is Audio Books, where the selection is wide and varied.

Charisse Reichenbach
Charisse Reichenbach – Secretary
Charisse Reichenbach graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992, where she majored in English. She worked her way up to Editor at PRP Publishing in Troy, Michigan. In 1996, Charisse met Mike Reichenbach at a church in Detroit Michigan, and they were married that same year. Her career moved her into a new opportunity with Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 Company in Toledo Ohio, where she was hired as an E-Commerce Manager in anticipation of the major role the internet would play in business. Charisse later left Owens to pursue a most challenging position, being the mother of two children born 17 months apart! Charisse combines her role as mother with her role as Director of Marketing at their family owned and operated dealership, Mike Reichenbach Ford Lincoln Mercury in Florence SC. Charisse and her family are avid patrons of the library.

Susann Ervin
Susann Ervin
Susann Ervin is a native of Florence and a life-long library patron. She has been General Manager of the Florence Symphony Orchestra and Financial Secretary of Circle Park. Husband Jake and Susann have two adult children, a daughter and son. They and their spouses have blessed their parents with three grandchildren. She likes to read fiction and listen to non-fiction audio books. For exercise, she rides her bike around the trails of Back Swamp.

Barringer Windgard
Barringer Wingard
Colonel Barry Wingard is a retired Army officer who served over 37 years, with 23 years on active duty. Following retirement in 2002, Barry was recalled to the Army in 2004 for 26 months, including service in Afghanistan as Chief of Operations, Police Reform Directorate. He serves as Florence Veterans Park Committee Chair, Dedication Ceremony and was one of three governor-appointed members of the Veterans State House Memorial Committee. Barry co-chaired the Fundraising Committee for the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library for the Friends. He and his wife, Carrington, have three adult children, two dogs, and three cats. Barry is interested in South Carolina history, and enjoys traveling and bridge with his wife. Colonel Wingard’s favorite part of the library is the E. N. Zeigler South Carolina History Room. Among many books of which he is fond, Barry always recommends No Greater Glory by Dan Kurzman.

Christy Mitchell
Christy Mitchell
Christy Mitchell is a native of North Carolina. Prior to moving to Florence in 1998, she was employed in retail and mortgage banking. She has always been an avid reader and active patron of the Florence County Library. As a busy mother of two young children, she is especially grateful for the resources and special programs offered in the children’s library. She is also very fond of the “Circulation Picks” display which has introduced her to countless new subjects and authors.

Laura Sims
Laura Sims
Laura Sims is the new Director of the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center, scheduled to open in 2011. A native of Athens, Alabama, Laura received her BA in Theatre with minors in Math and Music from Auburn University (War Eagle!) and her MFA in Stage Management from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her previous jobs include RPTA Stage Manager at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY), Tour Stage Manager at Birmingham Children’s Theatre (Birmingham, AL), Production Stage Manager at The Self Family Arts Center (Hilton Head, SC), and Production Manager at The Clarence Brown Theatre (Knoxville, TN). Laura’s very first part-time job was working for the Athens Public Library, and she misses the days of her youth when she could read 10 books a week during the summer reading program! She now has an ongoing list (5 pages and growing) of books she would like to read, but she welcomes suggestions from others – so many books, so little time…

Bill Taylor
Bill Taylor

Bill is presently the Field Services Manager with the Municipal Association of South Carolina which is an organization that supports the 270 incorporated cities and towns across South Carolina by offering programs, services, and training to assist local government officials in governing their respective communities. Bill provides technical assistance and training to officials in 154 communities in the eastern 26 counties in SC.

Prior to joining the Municipal Association in July of 2010 Bill had served as the Administrator for the Town of Cheraw for the previous 29 years where he oversaw 9 departments, 100 employees and assisted in managing a budget of some $10 million. Bill had also served as an Assistant City Administrator for the City of Lancaster as well as Economic Development Director for the Upper Savannah Council of Governments in Greenwood, SC.

Mary Wiser
Mary Wiser – Friends Coordinator
Mary coordinates Friends events and programs with the library Director and staff. She maintains member information and notifies them of upcoming events and programs. She schedules and supervises volunteers, maintains pledge, gift and memorial donations, and seeks grants that will benefit the library.
