TEEN TUESDAY / Christmas Pomander
On Tuesday, December 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. the Johnsonville Public Library will host a festive holiday program for Teens in grades 6-12.
This month we’re making Christmas Pomanders! Teens will be working with oranges, ribbons, and other trimmings to craft uniquely decorated pomanders to take home.
The session will be an hour and includes light refreshments. Please contact the library at
(843) 386-2052 for more information. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Johnsonville Public Library.
BOOK CLUB TO MEET IN JOHNSONVILLE
This month’s Book Club will meet at the Johnsonville Public Library on Friday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. to share our thoughts on Where’d You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple.
Copies are available at the library for pick-up, first come, first serve. Additional copies can be put on request as needed. Join us as we discuss Ms. Semple’s former career as a writer for such television series as “Mad About You” and “Arrested Development,” and her newest hilariously funny, domestic drama.
Refreshments will be provided. This program is FREE and sponsored by the Friends of the Johnsonville Public Library.
For more information, please visit or contact the library at (843) 386-2052.
A multi-year project has been launched at the Johnsonville Branch of the Florence County Library System in order to create the “Altman Genealogy and Local History Center.”
This multi-year grant funds the establishment of a community genealogy and local history center at the Johnsonville Library, as well as the digitization of photos and manuscripts from the local citizens of Johnsonville and the surrounding areas.
The grant also funded the purchase of a large flat bed scanner to digitize the materials and a server to house the online collection.
If you are interested in donating local historical or genealogical materials to be included in this collection, or would like more information regarding genealogy classes, please call 843.386.2052, email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop in the Library for an appointment.
