FREE TAX PREP

A representative from SC THRIVE (previously, Benefit Bank of SC) will be on hand to help prepare state and federal tax returns at our library beginning Monday, January 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. February Monday dates include: February 2, February 9, and February 23. The representative will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on these aforementioned dates.

This free service is available to those with income of $65,000 or less. The representative is also available for those needing help with the Affordable Care Act sign up, SNAP eligibility, and FAFSA application aid. For an appointment, please call 843-386-2052 or stop by the library.


LIBRARY FRIEND SOCIAL

On Thursday, January 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. the Friends of the Johnsonville Public Library will host the annual Friends Social including a meet and greet of the new assistant branch manager! Learn about the various ways the community has made an impact in library programming and services over the last year, and what new developments are being made to help sustain the legacy created by our proud city.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES

The Johnsonville Public Library is hosting American Sign Language classes Monday evenings beginning February 2 at 6:00 p.m. No experience required. All levels are welcome to join. Other February dates are as follows: February 9 and 23. Each class offers fun and diverse topics led by a certified ASL instructor.

All sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is required as class size is limited. Please call 843-386-2052 or come by the library to register.


BOOK CLUB TO MEET IN JOHNSONVILLE

The Johnsonville Library Book Club will meet at the Johnsonville Public Library on Friday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. Join us as we discuss The All Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion, by Fannie Flagg. A wildly hilarious and deeply touching novel about brave women, and their extraordinary accomplishments.

Copies are available at the library for pick-up, first come, first served. Additional copies can be put on request as needed. Refreshments will be provided. This program is FREE and sponsored by the Friends of the Johnsonville Public Library.

TEEN MOVIE IN JOHNSONVILLE

The Johnsonville Public Library is hosting our Teen Matinee Thursday on Thursday, February 12 from 3:30—5:45 p.m. We will watch an action-packed comedy that became the blockbuster hit of the season. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

The movie is family-approved and rated PG-13. For those under the age of 13, parental permission forms are required. Please see the front desk for more information. TEEN TUESDAY MARDI GRAS EVENT

Teen Tuesdays are back at the Johnsonville Public Library. We invite you to come celebrate the rich history of Mardi Gras on Tuesday, February 17th at 3:30 p.m.

The teens will learn about the origins of Mardi Gras and the different ways it is celebrated worldwide. Afterward, they will get the chance to make their own Mardi Gras mask. Refreshments are provided.

February’s Saturday Family Matinee is a spotted tail involving two dogs, their owners, and a whole lot of puppies!
