The Florence County Library System (Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library and all branches) will close early at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23rd and remain closed from Wednesday, December 24 through Sunday, December 28 for the Christmas Holiday. Normal hours of operation will resume on Monday, December 29th.

During December, the Dr. N. Lee Morris Gallery in Florence will feature a collection of framed images depicting Florence’s official annual Christmas ornaments. The ornaments were created over the past two decades by Florence native and internationally known artist Stephen Guyton. More information on this exhibit can be found on the Dr. N. The Dr. John M. Thomason Public Library will host two free classes in January:

The Florence County Library System is currently accepting applications from local and regional authors to appear at the Fourth Pee Dee Local Author Expo. The Expo will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Joseph Stukes Meeting Room. Read the rest of this entry »

The Florence County Library will be having registration for Winter/Spring programs beginning December 15 through January 2. The library has planned a variety of programs for children. For more information and to register for the programs please call the Greenberg Children’s Library at 292-7382. Registration is required for all programs. The Florence County Library System is offering practice interview sessions so that job seekers can strengthen their interview skills so that they may be better equipped to take advantage of employment opportunities.
