The Friends of the Florence County Library is an organization dedicated to the support and promotion of our new county library, its facilities and programs. To Join the Friends of the Florence County Library, click here to display the membership form and instructions. Then just print and fill out the form and mail it to the address listed at the bottom of the form along with your annual membership fee.

The Friends of The Florence County Library work:

• To provide financial assistance for more books, services and special collections
• To encourage gifts, endowments, and memorials to the library
• To sponsor cultural programs
• To publicize the library's services

Are you interested in decorating and arranging colorful, compelling reading materials? The glass display case in the lobby needs a tender, loving touch every month when we promote new programs and events.

Do you like the Friends programs and enjoy visiting with fellow participants? Consider hosting an event by setting up a table with food provided by the Friends and clean-up when the program ends.

Would you like to get together, visit with Friends and help promote Friends programs and events? Our Mailing Chairman, Sara Simons, loves to have a help with folding and collating newsletters and other mailings. This is a good way to catch up with people who love the library!

Do you like working with computer art? The Friends always need posters and other PR materials. An artistic person could see his or her work prominently displayed in the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library!

In a tradition of giving and sharing, philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. To assure that generosity merits public trust, and that donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations that they are asked to support, we declare that all donors have these rights:

To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organization's governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
