Our new library mascot is a red fox, and we are trying to find a name for it. So, we’ve decided to let the children decide. The winner will be notified by phone and receive a special prize. The winning name for our library fox will be announced at our last summer program on Wed., July 23, 2008. The winner’s picture will be taken with our newly named mascot. Please drop by the library and fill out your entry slip. Give us your name, age, phone number (so we can call you letting you know that you won), and your well thought out name for our mascot. We will no longer accept entries after July 6, 2008.

The Florence County Library also offers storytimes for various ages. Registration is required and runs from May 1-May 30, 2008. Storytimes are arranged in the following groups:

Each week during the summer, a theme is selected. Books, songs and fingerplays are highlighted around the theme. The weekly themes for Summer Reading 2008 are:
